Rollover Recovery?

Wow, it's been awhile. That's because I had forgotten my password and well, been playing on another site (facebook).

I also took some time to recover from an car accident in February that has, surprisingly, shaken my driving confidence to the core. It's been over a month since I skidded on the black ice and rolled my Jeep totaling it in the process. I tried to go back to work today (after our nearly 7 inches of snow last night) and just couldn't do it. I admit, I freaked when hearing the sound of the slush under the car (It sounded eeirely familiar to the sound of the car skidding into the ditch). I took the next exit off the highway, trying to prevent going into a full blown panic before getting the car into a nearby parking lot.

The physical injury has mostly healed, the psychological one, I thought I dealt with and put behind me. Guess getting back on that wet, slushy, slippery highway told me different.

Dammit!

Wow, what a weekend..........

Well, I finally got the opportunity to venture to NYC. Well, Ok, I was in Secaucus, but ya know, it's pretty close. And I did get into NYC. Twice!
My purpose for finally getting to the Northeast Coast.....Stargate. There was this big con going on for the weekend and I said "why not?" And my arm was twisted by some good friends of mine who live in Massachusetts of all places.
I got to meet lots of new people who have become near and dear friends. The most exciting part for me was venturing into NYC though. The first time was Friday morning (2ND) for the sole purpose of seeing Central Park. I ventured into this city armed with people who are comfortable with BIG cities...my girlfriend from Chicago and my girlfriend from Birmingham. England that is.
I got to experience my first subway ride. It was a lot cleaner than I had imagined. And just as confusing as expected.

The second venture into NYC was Sunday Night to see my first play. It was an awesome production called Humans Anonymous. Absolutely fantastic!! Then it was off to see some sites before flying home early Monday morning. Got to see Broadway, Times Square, Empire State Building, Ground Zero, Battery Park and the Statue of Liberty. I also saw some fantastic old churches and cemeteries in the midst of Manhattan. I got back to the hotel at 2 AM and I needed to be up at 6 to pack and get ready to go home.

I loved my ventures into the Big Apple. It wasn't as scary as I had imagined and all the fun that I thought it would be. I can't wait to go back again. Oh, and that Stargate Con I went too....total blast. Too bad they moved it to Cherry Hill next year.

First Time Blogging....

Well, I finally took the plunge and decided to try this blogging thing.....

I'm all excited that S4 of Stargate Atlantis premieres this Friday!! I've been Squeeing with my friends over on Gateworld. I have to say, I've watched a few shows in my day, but this is the first time I have ever been this hyped about seeing a season premiere. From the looks and sounds of things this is really going to be a kick ass damned great season.
